COMMON WEALTH GAMES

When things are gone then we realize its importance …but this time it was little different since I realized its importance before it started. The day I got my venue and shifts timing my excitement doubled since I got games village as my venue. The coke team had more than 50 members and everyone   belong to different age groups and academic backgrounds …this was also one of the factor because of which we have enjoyed a lot .we use to reach the village at 8 and from then our MASTI use to begin. Teasing each other and pulling each other’s leg. We were assigned a RC-5(residential center)…they were built so that the athletes can watch TV. ,surf net and play games ,basically it was a place for their relaxation. Our RC-5 was the main RC and becoz of that we have to do a lot work. Initially it was tiring because we were not  able to coordinate and manage few things. But after the few glitches everything was in order. And we started enjoying our work more than ever. My group members were people full ofJ MASTI AND ENJOYMENTJ  …we had created nicknames for athletes and our favorite one was CHOTU JJ,who my friend (Ritika) fond very handsome. Whenever he uses to enter our RC we use to start smiling at each other. My another friend (mona) loves Nigeria so whenever a Nigerian player comes she use to leave her favorite work which was refilling the fridges and concentrate on her favorite group of athletes JJ.. And to what say about our group leader Mr. Saurabh who was famous for being kanhaiya..Every day we use to target someone so that we can pull his or her leg and on top of our charts were Mona and sonika was there...
COKE GROUP

CWG is over and everyday going to my college I have to drag myself from bed and prepare my mind for the boring lectures which I have to face every day…life was so different just 2weeks back when we don’t want to go home if we were given a chance I know everyone have opted to stay for the entire period in the village rather than going home. From our workforce dining pathetic food to the awesome concerts which we use to watch everything was just mind blowing... JJ They are so many incidents which I want to write about which makes me smile every day. At that time it was irritating but now I feel nostalgic by remembering those things... L
Thanks everyone for making CWG a memorable experience and specially thanks to JCHARLIE ANGLEZJ
RC-5 TEAM

Miss u guyzz..!!

RAIN RAIN AND RAIN....

From last 2 months I wake up in the morning not from the sound of my alarm clock but from the sound of rain…living in ncr (indirapuram, near delhi) ,I have never expected to see so much of rain in my locality..
Since a child we have always waited for monsoon to arrive in Delhi. Every day the meteorological department used to predict something in the newspaper and we all used to wait for the prediction to come true. But later we realized that the actual thing that happens is the opposite of the predictions made by the meteorological department. Monsoon is such a wonderful thing. It represents peace, calm, happiness, and cry, hurt, hate as well.
In school days I use to wish at rains starts at the time of our break or when the day ends so that we can enjoy it properly. We can have hot pakoda and tea and enjoy rain…it really tastes awesome…since pakodas are already yummy but rain adds more taste to it.
I have read a poem of Henry Wadsworth Longfello when I was in school and it’s one of my favorite.

It goes as follow
How beautiful is the Rain!
How beautiful is the rain!
After the dust and heat,
In the broad and fiery street,
In the narrow lane,
How beautiful is the rain!
How it clatters along the roofs,
Like the tramp of hoofs!
How it gushes and struggles out
From the throat of the overflowing spout
Across the window-pane
It pours and pours;
And swift and wide,
Like a river down the gutter roars
The rain, the welcome rain!

But this time no delhite have ever thought of the amount of rain Delhi will receive, all the past records have been broken...
Since 2010 is one of the important years for Delhi because of CWG and specially this time period.
But this time after seeing and experiencing the difficulties that rain bring along, I wish that that monsoon comes in Delhi just for few weeks and not for months...excess of everything is bad since excess of rainfall brings Waterlogging problem, traffic snarls, stinking garbage and an outbreak of dengue…students and office goers has to face the ,maximum problem…there are leakages in metro and metro station sometimes the seats of metro are also wet…and everyday government officials  blame each other and when the monsoon is over they forget and repeat the same thing the next  year .
Just for now I hope that the rain stops so that our country is able to hosts CWG properly without any more difficulties….it can come anytime once the games are over.

Rain rains go away,
Come again another day.
Athletes want to play;
Rain, rain, go to South,
Show your face again after games!

EIDI

It was 6 in the morning when my nephew who is 3 yrs. old jumped on me and started shouting chalo utho na phowii (a short word for bua), I gave him a slap coz I hate people when they woke me soo early irrespective of their age .i love to sleep I can sleep for the whole day if given a chance. Since it was ID-IL-FITR (Eid) everyone at my house has already up and was doing something or the other. I was at my grandmother’s place so all my uncles and aunts were there and my cousins to. Our house was full packed with people…these types of family get together are generally observed either on marriage or on festivals. I love it when my cousins are there, being the eldest in the family I have the authority to dominate and influence them easily.
I finally left my bed around 8….when I went on the ground floor…everyone started shouting at me and scolding me .my mom who always say that I am irresponsible said out the same words again one more and this time in front of my aunts and cousins. I was the last one to get up. All the male members had already left for NAMAAZ... On eid the time for namaaz was 9 but coz of rain everyone left early so that they could get the space of their choice. While all the females where preparing SEWAYIAN and some non- vegetarian delicacies like KEBABS and MUTTON CURRY.
I was assigned the work of changing bed covers, cushions and table cloth. I find it really boring but didn’t have any other option, so I started with my job. First I cleaned the drawing rooms all the bedrooms and then changed the covers .it took me around 1 hour as I have done delegation of authority, I divided the work according to floors and did the ground floor myself as kitchen was situated their and my mom was keeping an eye on me.my sister heeba who is in 12 class did the first floor and the other two arshia (12) amaan (9) together did the third floor. I bribed them by saying that I will give them EIDI.

Around 10 everyone came back after offering namaaz, by then all the female members were ready in their new dresses .everyone started shouting EIDI and my dad and uncles gave us good amount of money which we spend either on movies or shopping. My cousins started asking eidi from me...and I started making stupid excuses which now days are not acceptable in front of kids who are over smart .so I handed them a box of chocolate which my best friend gave me on eid.
Since I didn’t had any other option I gave them …b

ut coz of my bad luck my nephew took the whole box and was not giving anyone…we all tried taking it from him  but he said its mine ..Ye mera hai!
Guests started visiting our house and we all were busy in entertaining them serving them sewayian, chole, dahi bade …in between they were whispering me that we want eidi otherwise we will tell your mom that we have helped you.
This time I really panicked coz if my mom comes to know about this she will be really upset from me and this time my dad to.
I started thinking of buying some stuff for them but they want cash or want to go out with me for dinner. I told them I will be giving them after lunch and this time for sure….i was really not able to concentrate on food. On eid an extremely delicious lunch is cooked and I was not able to enjoy it just for a stupid reason, because I was afraid of its consequences .i started having my favorite kebabs with SHEERMAAL (sweet bread) and BAKARKHANI (multi layered, rich and sweet, sometimes with silver foil on the top).and for desert we had three kinds of sewayein one with milk and one without milk and the other one with a lots of dry fruit (my favorite).
After getting full from having yummy food I called my cousins and told them they I will be taking them out for dinner, they started screaming coz they couldn’t believe that I am actually fulfilling my promise. Around 7 all 4.5 of us went out... (.5 is my nephew coz he is just 3). I took them out for dinner to DESI VIBES, we all love its dal makhani and paneer and the varieties of pickles that they serve…. It’s awesome! We also did a little shopping from ferns and petals for one of my aunts.
I thought I should make everyone happy since it was eid.to be honest I did it just because of ADOMADO…which has saved me earlier too and this time it did it again. I used my credits points in desi vibes as well as ferns and petals to avail discounts…which in end saved my money. Thanks once again to my credit points which are available to me because of ADOMADO.

TANDOORI TRAIL

I am a die out fan of tandoori chicken. I love eating chicken especially made in a traditionally way. Cooking is my hobby .I love to cook from anything to everything .I have tried  lot of chicken recipes and I make really good chicken korma .These days I am learning to cook tandoori chicken but till now I didn’t get a perfect recipe , the perfect way of cooking .
Every Indian who loves chicken loves this variety of chicken because it is specially prepared in charcoal and clay utensils. Like most great recipes, Tandoori Chicken has an interesting story. It starts in the 1920s with a man named Kundan Lal Gujral who opened a restaurant called Moti Mahal in Peshawer during the time when India was united under British rule. Experimenting with new and interesting food preparations, Gujral decided to try cooking chicken in the tandoors--clay ovens--used by local villagers to cook bread. They could reach temperatures of about 900 degrees. Using young chickens, Gujral was able to cook them in the high-heat ovens so that the inside was just done and the outside crisped. The result would make him famous.

In 1947, the Punjab province of British India was partitioned with the Eastern portion joining Pakistan and Western India. Peshawer, with its Muslim majority, became part of Pakistan. Gujral found himself one among many Sikh and Hindu refugees fleeing the rioting and upheaval by heading west to India. He moved his restaurant to Daryaganj, Delhi. As chance would have it, the move into the newly independent India would make Gujral's chicken an international phenomenon.
The first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, happened to eat at Moti Mahal and was so impressed by the crispy, tender dish that he made a point of planning many state banquets there. Foreign dignitaries that enjoyed Tandoori Chicken included American Presidents Richard Nixon and John Kennedy, Soviet leaders Nikolai Bulganin and Nikita Khrushchev, the King of Nepal, and the Shah of Iran. The relationship between the restaurant and the leaders of India lasted through several generations of Prime Ministers. The result of the fame is obvious-Tandoori Chicken and its derivative, Butter Chicken, are standards on Indian menus the world over. Chicken Tikka Masala--a dish immensely popular in Britain and America--is also based largely on these dishes. For better, Gujral's son has launched Moti Mahal
So I feel the best place where we can get the taste of original tandoori chicken is moti mahal. Moti mahal which has recently launched a tandoori trail in greater Noida. A new addition to Greater Noida, this certainly improves the otherwise pathetic food scene in and around the area, this Moti Mahal Tandoori Trail is a welcome change. I went to this place around last week and can certainly say that they do a good job at what Moti Mahal is well known for - Indian food! The service is good too - and the ambience is also well taken care of.
And the best part was that I got 20% discount on food just because of ADOMADO . I redeemed this offer for just 25 credit points. This makes me able to visit this place again as it had save my money which I can use it next time. On ADOMADO there are others offers as well such as 15%discount on moti mahal for alcoholic drinks etc. They can be redeemed easily and are valid on different outlets of moti mahal.

BEACHES OF GOA

DELHI is the best place on earth. Delhi has everything from a wide range of shopping’s spots to a diversity in culture. Owing to the migration of people across the country, Delhi has grown to be multicultural, cosmopolitan metropolis. Today, Delhi is a major cultural, political, and commercial center of India. . It is the capital of India and its political and cultural center.
Being born and brought up in Delhi, I think it’s a perfect city to live. But there is only one thing that I miss being a delhite, that there are no beaches.
So I planned to visit goa which is Renowned for its beaches and It also has rich flora and fauna, owing to its location on the Western Ghats range, which is classified as a biodiversity hotspot.to escape from the summer of Delhi I decided to visit goa in July since goa receives its monsoon rain till mid- June so there is a pleasant weather.
This time I decided to travel all alone, I think it’s better to be alone as it helps to explore the place better and I can spend time on the locations according to my preferences .The difficulty which came was that I have a limited budget and being an avid traveler I wanted to spend at least a week in goa.
When I decided to stay in a resort then I came to know that it can be quite expensive. A night stay in any resort costs at least Rs 1500, which will cross my budget. Every day I spend hours on the net just to find a decent resort where I can stay for 1 week and it’s in my budget.
One day just while surfing the net I came to know about the site called ADOMADO. It’s a site which makes surfing the net profitable. People like me who spend 2-3 hours per day on Facebook or watching videos on YouTube, it’s really beneficial for them. You just have to download it and registered yourself and start collecting credits. Whichever site you surf and irrespective of the time limit you will earn credits accordingly. Which I feel is great. One can redeem it for movies discounts, to send free sms, to get discounts on travelling, dining and while purchasing books etc. there are a whole lot of exciting offers which one can redeem by collecting credits which is the easiest part of the deal.
From ADOMADO I came to know about the avantika resort which has rooms just for RS 900 per night including breakfast and all the taxes. I redeemed this offer just for 25 credit points .it was a win win situation for me, to get a wonderful offer just surfing the net which we all do  and it’s are routine work. This room without discount is Rs 2750 without breakfast.
When I reached my resort AVANTIKA which was located just 5mins walk from the enchanting Calangute Beach. It is situated 45Kms. from the airport and 14 kms from the capital city; Panjim.it has all the facilities like fitness center, swimming, access to internet etc. Delhi Dawat, a Special air-conditioned multi cuisine restaurant offering a range of exotic Oriental, Continental, Authentic Indian & Home-made Delicacies prepared by master Chefs. Rooms are designed with flair of architecture, the resort has 22 self-setting air-conditioned rooms which are exquisitely designed to give you total comfort and are ideal for long staying guests or those who need more space. All rooms have a balcony, Satellite television, well stocked mini bar in mini Fridge, Hot and Cold running water.

From the next day onwards I started exploring the beaches of goa – they are around 10 beaches in goa. In one week of time I just visited 6 beaches of north goa and left the remaining 4 for my next visit. I started from the Calangute Beach followed by Candolim Beach, Sinquerim, Baga, Bambolim, Arambol and Vagator Beach.  Maong all the beaches I found the Bambolim Beach the best .it is the small, clean, largely undiscovered beach, in a shaded spot before the mouth of the river Zuari. The entrance to the beach is easily missed and lies along the hill between Goa Medical College and the Goa University. The road goes all the way down to the Bambolim beach resort from where you can make your way to the beach. The beach is carpeted with broken mother-of-pearl and other shells, which makes it a haven for shell-collectors. Thick coconut groves line the beach and provide shade and privacy. It’s a beautiful beach for a quiet, cozy picnic. You can enjoy lunch at the Bambolim Beach Resort restaurant, serenaded by one of the local singers or bands. When you decide to head back home, take the road that goes to the beautiful Goa University all the way up to Dona Paula.A little off the road before Dona Paula just before the National Institute of Oceanography, is a restaurant called White House. It serves excellent seafood and has a view of the bay to die for.

ARAMBOL BEACH

In addition to the beaches I also visited Historic sites and neighborhoods. Goa has two World Heritage Sites- the Bom Jesus Basilica and a few designated convents. Goa also has a few museums, the two important ones being Goa State Museum and the Naval Aviation Museum. The Aviation museum is the only one of its kind in the whole of India
I had a trip which I will cherish throughout my life and it all happened because of ADOMADO. Just because of that I could stay in a resort which was within my budget and visit all the beaches which I always dreamed of.
